This guide explains how to deploy the Block 64 Discovery Agent MSI through ManageEngine Desktop Central. Desktop Central supports automated software distribution, making it easy to deploy the agent to multiple endpoints.
Important: Retrieve the Enrollment Token
Before starting, obtain the unique Enrollment Token for your environment from your Block 64 Dashboard or Block 64 Support. This token is critical for linking each agent to your environment. Using an incorrect token will prevent proper agent registration.
Step 1: Upload the MSI File to Desktop Central
- Log in to ManageEngine Desktop Central Console.
- Navigate to Software Deployment > Add Packages.
- Click Add Package and select MSI Package.
- Browse and upload the Block 64 MSI file (
Discovery Agent.msi
).
Step 2: Configure Deployment Package Settings

Package Details:
- Package Name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., “Block 64 Discovery Agent”).
- License Type: Select Free or Licensed as applicable to your deployment policy.

Installation Command:
- In the Installation Command field, enter the following command:
- Replace
"your_token_here"
with your actual enrollment token.
- Silent Installation: Enable Run Installation Silently to avoid user interaction.
Step 3: Assign Deployment Targets
- Under Deploy Package, select Choose Computers.
- Specify the Target Devices or Groups to receive the deployment.
- Schedule Deployment: Choose Deploy Immediately or schedule it for a specific time.
Step 4: Save and Deploy
- Review the package and settings, then click Save and Deploy to initiate the deployment.
- You can monitor the progress through Software Deployment > Software Installation Reports.
Monitoring and Verifying Installation
- Check Deployment Status: In Desktop Central Console, navigate to Software Installation Reports to verify completion, errors, or any issues.
- Confirm on Endpoints: On each endpoint, ensure the Block 64 Discovery Agent appears in Programs and Features.
Uninstallation Steps
To uninstall, create a new package in Desktop Central with the following uninstall command:
Assign this package to the target devices to remove the agent.
