This guide explains how to deploy the Block 64 Discovery Agent MSI with Citrix Endpoint Management (CEM). CEM supports MSI deployment for Windows devices, making it straightforward to distribute the agent across your organization.
Important: Retrieve the Enrollment Token
Before deploying, retrieve the unique Enrollment Token from your Block 64 Dashboard or by contacting Block 64 Support. This token links each agent to your environment and must be accurate for successful registration.
Step 1: Prepare the MSI File
- Obtain the Block 64 Discovery Agent MSI file (
Discovery Agent.msi
) and store it in an accessible location for Citrix Endpoint Management.
Step 2: Create a New App in Citrix Endpoint Management
- Log in to Citrix Endpoint Management Console.
- Navigate to Apps & Books > Add > Add App.
- Select Enterprise as the type and choose Windows for the platform.
Step 3: Configure the MSI Package Deployment
- In the App Details section:
- App Name: Enter a name, such as "Block 64 Discovery Agent".
- Description: Provide a description if needed.
- Upload MSI:
- Click Browse to upload the
Slingshot.msi
file. - In the Installation Command field, enter the following:
"your_token_here"
with your specific enrollment token.

- Silent Installation:
- Select Install silently to run the deployment without user interaction.
Step 4: Assign the App to Target Devices
- Under Assignments, select the device groups or users who should receive the deployment.
- Specify any Deployment Rules if you need to target specific devices based on conditions (e.g., OS version).
- Click Save to apply settings.
Step 5: Deploy the App
- Review the app configuration, then choose Deploy to push the Block 64 Discovery Agent to your selected devices.
- You can track the deployment status through the Delivery Groups and Device Management sections in Citrix Endpoint Management.
Monitoring and Verifying Installation
- Check Deployment Status: In Citrix Endpoint Management Console, navigate to Device Management to view deployment progress and status.
- Confirm Installation: On each endpoint, verify the Block 64 Discovery Agent appears in Programs and Features.
Uninstallation Steps
To uninstall, create a new app with the following uninstall command:
Assign this to the same devices or groups as the initial installation to remove the Block 64 Discovery Agent.
